Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers for experienced traders. No hype, just facts.
Product & Philosophy
Absolutely not. TradingEngine is a tool, not a strategy. We provide the control interface between your AI model and exchange APIs. You are 100% responsible for your trading decisions, risk management, and results. No profit claims, no guarantees, no "get rich quick" promises.
No. You bring your own LLM API keys. TradingEngine currently connects to Gemini, DeepSeek, and other AI providers. We recommend Chinese models as they often excel at numerical and analytical tasks. You are responsible for all API usage costs and rate limits.
That's entirely up to you. TradingEngine does not provide any trading strategies. You define your strategy through prompts given to your LLM. We recommend extensive testing in simulation mode before using real funds. You must understand trading fundamentals before using this tool.
Possibly, but not guaranteed. TradingEngine is a tool that can automate your trading strategy execution. Whether it can replace manual trading depends entirely on the effectiveness of your strategy and your prompts. Many users employ it to augment their trading, not replace it entirely.
No. You don't need to be a programmer. However, you should be comfortable with technical concepts like API keys, prompt engineering, and trading terminology. The interface is designed for traders, not developers. Basic technical literacy is sufficient.
Technical Details
Binance Futures and CoinEx Futures are fully supported. Only futures trading is available - this is by design as TradingEngine focuses on leveraged trading. Spot trading and additional exchanges (Kraken, Bybit, etc.) are planned for future releases.
Windows 10/11 64-bit, 4GB RAM minimum, stable internet connection. Installation is per-user and does not require administrator rights. Each user's API keys are encrypted separately using Windows user account encryption. .NET Framework 8 or higher are required.
Everything stays on your machine. API keys are encrypted per Windows user account and never leave your computer. Trade history, configuration, and logs are stored locally. TradingEngine has no cloud backend and collects zero trading data. Your privacy and security are paramount.
We strongly recommend using Binance Testnet for 2-4 weeks before connecting to live exchanges. This gives you risk-free testing with real API behavior.
No hard limits. Performance depends on your system. Start with 3-5 symbols - this should not significantly impact speed. Monitor your hardware resources and decision cycle times, then scale up gradually. Each user should test their own system's capacity.
Primary delay comes from your LLM's response time. TradingEngine adds minimal overhead. Total time: Market data → LLM processing → Your review → Execution. For lowest latency, use fast AI providers and optimize your prompts. Not designed for HFT.
Yes. TradingEngine can run continuously. The only limitations are your LLM API rate limits and token costs. The application is stable for long-term operation. Crypto markets never sleep, and neither does TradingEngine (if you don't want it to).
Safety & Control
Yes - AI analyzes and executes automatically. You can disable the executor to run in "dry mode" (analysis only) or manually close positions/cancel orders at any time.
Safety is implemented through your prompts. You instruct the AI to check conditions before deciding. Example prompt: "If portfolio P&L is below -5% today, only close positions, do not open new ones." While there are no built-in circuit breakers yet, your prompt can handle overbought/oversold conditions, max drawdown, etc.
API keys are encrypted using Windows user account encryption. Each Windows user sees only their own encrypted keys. Keys never leave your machine unencrypted. We follow security best practices: no plaintext storage, encrypted config files, and isolation between users on the same machine.
Support covers: bug fixes and help with software operation. We do not provide: financial advice, strategy development, prompt engineering services, or trading education. We'll help you get the software running and address technical issues - the trading is your domain.
Legal & Responsibility
TradingEngine is software that connects to your own trading accounts using official exchange APIs. You trade with your account, your funds, your strategy. However, regulations vary by jurisdiction. You are responsible for compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and exchange terms. We are not lawyers - consult a professional if unsure.
No. TradingEngine is designed for experienced traders who understand: risk management, position sizing, futures trading mechanics, and market dynamics. If you're new to trading, learn fundamentals first. This is professional tooling, not a tutorial or beginner platform.
You are, 100%. TradingEngine executes your instructions based on your prompts. We are not responsible for trading losses, strategy failures, or market movements. Futures trading involves high risk - you can lose more than your initial investment. Trade only with risk capital.
No refunds after license activation. Due to the digital nature of the software, refunds cannot be offered. Evaluate the software using the free Binance Testnet demo before purchasing. If you encounter technical issues, we'll work to resolve them.
Yes, to another computer. Contact us to transfer your license to a new machine. Each license covers one user on one PC. Transfers between different users are not permitted. We'll help you migrate your encrypted configuration if needed.
You receive all updates for the lifetime of the TradingEngine application. This includes: bug fixes, performance improvements, new features, and exchange integrations. It does not cover major version upgrades that might be separate products. We're committed to maintaining and improving the tool.
